Hagedorn (mid) August Report

The 2018 election may be 439 days away, but our campaign is in general election mode!

During just the past two weeks I’ve campaigned in 14 of the First District’s 21 counties and shaken hands with thousands of southern Minnesotans (see above picture from the Chatfield Western Days Parade and below photo from the Martin County Fair).

In wake of the Charlottesville violence and the devastating premeditated Islamic terrorist attack in Barcelona, I issued the following statement:

Barcelona represents another brutal premeditated attack by Islamic supremacists. To defend our nation from those who hate America and abhor Western culture I support extreme vetting and have called for a refugee program timeout.

The violent and vile actions of all supremacists and extremists - including those whose commitment is tied to religion, race or political ideology - must be met with the full force of morality, law and order and swift justice.

The United States is the greatest nation in the history of the world. I'm proud of our Country, proud of our Flag and grateful for our God-given Liberty.

As Americans, let us move forward committed to a free society, the rule of law, our incredible Constitution and E Pluribus Unum.

Senator Weber

Our campaign continues to build strong momentum - nationally, across the State of Minnesota and, most importantly, throughout the First District.

I’m excited to announce that distinguished Minnesota State Senator Bill Weber (District 22, Luverne) has endorsed my candidacy for Congress (see above photo of Senator Weber and his wife Barb campaigning with me at the Rock County Fair). Senator Weber is Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, and I look forward to working with him to sustain farming and our rural communities.

Previously, five other prominent state legislators endorsed my candidacy (click to read the press release).

Our campaign is in the news. This MinnPost article by Sam Brodey highlights the perspective of urban and rural voters in Minnesota’s congressional districts. The Hagedorn campaign is referenced and I’m quoted, click to read.

This open seat is the best House Republican takeover opportunity in the United States. Our campaign is working tirelessly to improve upon the 49.6% earned in 2016 and finish the job in 2018. But we cannot win without the support of Great Americans like you.

Bernie Brenner

Thanks to U.S. Veteran Bernie Brenner for his service to our country! This picture of Bernie and I was taken during Sunday's Goodview Days Parade. I have long advocated that our Veterans be empowered to choose their own doctors and hospitals and I will fight to enact such a policy as your representative in Congress.

Thanks for reading!
