As of Saturday evening, there were numerous reports from Capitol Hill that anti-impeachment Democrat and freshman Rep. Jeff Van Drew, N.J., was on the verge of switching to the Republican Party.
It is widely expected he will announce he is becoming a Republican at a ceremony at the White House before Wednesday — just as the full House is scheduled to vote on two articles of impeachment against Trump.
