HAGEDORN STATEMENT ON DAN FEEHAN’S PUSH FOR SOCIALIZED MEDICINE
Blue Earth, Minnesota – Jim Hagedorn, Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s First Congressional District, released the following statement on Dan Feehan’s desire to make a so-called “public option” the first bill he will introduce if elected to Congress.
“After four debates, Dan Feehan’s true position in support of socialized, government-run healthcare was finally made known tonight,” said Hagedorn. When asked by a moderator during the Greater Mankato Growth/Mankato Free Press debate what his first bill introduction would be if elected to Congress, Feehan indicated a “public option” healthcare plan would be his legislative priority.
“Feehan’s so-called ‘public option’ will end Medicare as we know it, devastate the Mayo Clinic, Destination Medical Center and new investment in Rochester, slash reimbursement to our rural medical clinics and hospitals, cost as much as $32.6 trillion over 10 years and put at risk up to 40,000 jobs in southern Minnesota,” said Hagedorn. “Feehan’s health care ideas are out of touch and too extreme for our southern Minnesota district, but that makes sense because he isn’t from our district,” concluded Hagedorn.
