Munson Endorses Hagedorn in CD 1 Race
Minnesota’s Newest GOP Legislator Pledges Support
Blue Earth, Minnesota – Jim Hagedorn, Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s First Congressional District, today announced his campaign has been endorsed by State Representative Jeremy Munson of Lake Crystal, Minnesota’s newest elected Republican state legislator. Munson was elected in a February special election.
“Jim Hagedorn is by far the best candidate to represent our issues and is on track to win Republican Party endorsement in April and the general election this fall. I am proud to offer my endorsement and will work diligently to help see him to the U.S. Capitol to fight for our values in Congress,” said State Representative Jeremy Munson.
Hagedorn has now secured endorsements from six state legislators, 23 chairs, deputy chairs or co-chairs representing 17 of the 21 counties in the First Congressional District, numerous current and former Members of Congress and the U.S. Senate, and former First and Second Congressional District chairs. “Representative Munson is a hard working advocate for southern Minnesota values and I’m honored to have earned his endorsement,” said Hagedorn. “I look forward to partnering with him on the challenges facing our state and nation.”
In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pickup opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
