INDEPENDENCE DAY – While making the 100-mile drive from Blue Earth to our first campaign event in Rice County Saturday morning - I thought rather intently about the raw courage of our country’s Forefathers on that first July 4th, 239 years prior – how simply signing the Declaration of Independence made them mortal enemies of the most powerful king and military on earth.

Nicollet’s Friendship Days Parade

MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING – We’ve been busy!  Thanks to GOP leaders in Brown, Watonwan and Nicollet counties for joining me for the Springfield, St. James and Nicollet parades this past week (picture is from Nicollet’s Friendship Days Parade). Tuesday I had fun meeting Winona County residents at the Family Night on the Farm event on the Wirtland Dairy Farm in Lewiston.

The best part of campaigning is meeting First District residents. On Saturday I had fun walking in Fairmont’s Interlaken Heritage Days Parade and shaking hands with the people of Martin County, where we ran very strong in 2014! Thanks to State Rep. Bob Gunther and Neal and Juleen Breitbarth (pictured) for their strong support.

MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING – Recently I began visiting Republican county organizations for their monthly BPOU meetings.  First on the schedule was Brown County (see picture).  I look forward to visiting with GOP leaders of all 21 counties in the coming weeks.

Twins Game

MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING – We continue to methodically organize and build support.  This past week I attended several worthwhile events including the MNGOP’s Elephant Club luncheon in Minneapolis.  The guest speaker was former U.S. Senator Norm Coleman who documented how Obama-Clinton’s weak and naive foreign policy has hurt the Cause of Freedom and led to the exponential spread of radical Islam.
