HAGEDORN STATEMENT ON U.S. HOUSE PASSAGE OF HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION –
U.S. House Republicans have taken the first step toward repealing and replacing Obamacare with free market reforms. While I would have preferred a straight forward repeal and more robust replacement provisions (see my full views here) I support the House's action.
Obamacare is a monstrosity that has limited health insurance choices, dramatically driven up the cost of premiums and deductibles and imposed massive, costly regulations and taxes upon the medical care industry and the American people.
The Democrat alternative to Obamacare is Medicare for all or Medicaid (welfare) for most or, more precisely, VA care for everyone.
The Democrat position of socialized medicine is unacceptable to the American people, as it would degrade the highest quality medical care in the world and lead to massive tax increases, widespread rationing and an undermining of doctors and medical institutions like our wonderful Mayo Clinic and fine rural hospitals.
I will continue to strongly support the efforts of President Trump and the congressional GOP majority to repeal and replace Obamacare.
JIM MEETS WITH LEGISLATORS IN ST. PAUL –
Earlier this week I traveled to the capitol and met with many of southern Minnesota’s State Senators and Representatives and members of the media. Thanks to all for the warm reception. Pictured with me is great friend and State Rep. Tony Cornish, Vernon Center.
REP. TOM EMMER ENDORSES HAGEDORN –
Our campaign continues to build strong, positive momentum following our razor-thin 2016 election!
Recently, U.S. Congressman Tom Emmer endorsed my candidacy for Congress. Congressman Emmer represents Minnesota’s Sixth District and is the Deputy Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. I am grateful and humbled to receive Tom’s support. MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING –
Staying connected with GOP activists is a critically important part of our campaign.
Last Saturday I attended the Minnesota Republican Party’s state central committee in St. Cloud. I connected with scores of supporters, including several prominent College Republicans from Minnesota State University, Mankato (see above photo).
Recently, I’ve attended many GOP functions across southern Minnesota and met with the following Republican county organizations: Mower, Freeborn, Rice, Blue Earth, Le Sueur, Fillmore, Steele, Jackson and Brown (see below photo).

During the Republican state central committee meeting in St. Cloud Jennifer Carnahan was elected as our Party’s next Chair (see above photo and news article here). I am confident that Jennifer and the entire Minnesota Republican Party leadership team will do an outstanding job!
