MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING –
This week I enjoyed attending the Martin County Republican meeting in Fairmont and an Olmsted County Republican event honoring former Senator Rudy Boschwitz.
The most important visit I made this past week, and it was NOT a campaign stop, was to tour Madelia’s serious fire damage and discuss rebuilding efforts with business leaders and residents. I visited roughly 12 businesses and offices on Madelia’s Main Street and had excellent conversations with former Mayor Dale Williams, his wife Shari and many other Madelia residents, including longtime Watonwan County resident Ray Knaak (pictured above).
I grew up on the Hagedorn grain and livestock farm about 15 miles from Madelia. Over the years my family and I have visited the city many times. Sustaining our rural way of life is critically important to me and most southern Minnesotans; so, whenever a smaller rural community faces a setback, especially one of this magnitude, it is concerning. But, after visiting with the local leaders, I am optimistic Madelia will successfully rebuild and remain “Madelia Strong!”
For more, please read this Mankato Times article on my visit to Madelia.
Our press release outing Tim Walz for his pathetic “soft on Islamic terrorism” record and the 10-year incumbent’s failure to address the border security and immigration breaches that have made Americans vulnerable to Islamic terrorism is gaining attention.
Click here to read a column written by Ryan McGaughey, published in the Worthington Daily Globe, along with my Facebook post on the subject. Even though Editor McGaughey is a bit tough on me, his column reinforces that Tim Walz is devoting his time issuing pro-Muslim political correctness lectures, while I am focused like a laser beam on the threat of radical Islam and offering constructive policy ideas to protect the American people.
Southern Minnesotans want a congressman who will say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done – Political Correctness Be Damned - to defend the United States from radical Islam.
PRECINCT CAUCUS, MARCH 1ST –
On Super Tuesday, March 1st, you have the power to directly elect Republican National Convention Delegates for the Office of President of the United States. Also, by attending your local GOP precinct caucus, you can directly support the Hagedorn campaign, as well as State Senate and State Representative candidates.
For background on the Minnesota GOP Caucus process and to locate your caucus location, click here: http://mngop.com/precinct-caucuses/
Here’s how you can help our campaign at your March 1st Precinct Caucus:
- Attend your local precinct caucus and place your name in nomination to be elected as a delegate to your county convention. Then ask fellow Republicans to vote for you. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our campaign at email@example.com or discuss the process with your local GOP official on caucus night.
- Volunteer to deliver a short speech in support of my candidacy at your local precinct caucus. Again, please contact our campaign at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
GRASSROOTS FUNDRAISING –
Attention Faribault, Freeborn and Blue Earth County residents, our campaign will be holding a Meet and Greet, February 19th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at the Nowak Farm in Wells. Beginning at 6:30 pm I will give a campaign update and answer questions. Hope you will attend and bring a friend! Please view this flyer for full details.
On another front, the Mankato Free Press filed this news story that highlights Walz’s incumbent fundraising advantage. Our campaign raised just under $100,000 last year, a figure that far outpaced the previous campaign, but we must pick up the pace from here.
I have very high name ID for a challenger and our campaign is well organized across the First District. I offer bold positive solutions to solve our nation’s glaring problems and a clear contrast to Walz’s liberal pro-Obama voting record. The national issues are in our favor, and resonating, and Hillary Clinton’s position in southern Minnesota is unraveling.
But we need your help to be in position this fall to contrast our record with Walz and his liberal failures and get my name in front of the electorate. Please consider making a contribution of $250, $100, $50 or any amount today!
To donate electronically click here. To make a contribution by check, please mail to: Friends of Hagedorn; 11 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 007; Mankato, MN 56001. Thank you!
HAGEDORN vs. WALZ (ON THE ISSUES) –
Walz supports massive gasoline and diesel fuel taxes:
How come the minute we catch a much overdue break on the price of fuel, Tim Walz and the Democrats want to soak us with higher taxes?
First, Tim joined forces with liberal urban Democrats to champion massive federal and Minnesota fuel tax increases that would force you to pay 30 – 40 cents more per gallon of gasoline and diesel fuel. Has “Twin Cities” Tim forgotten that residents of the rural First District often drive long distances and devote far more of their disposable incomes to fuel than Twin Cities residents? 93% of New Hampshire Dems backed Sanders on “honest and trustworthy issue”:
Tim Walz’s endorsed candidate, Hillary Clinton, continues to underperform and face serious “honest and trustworthy” concerns based upon the ongoing FBI investigation into breaches of national security and possible “play to pay” schemes related to the Clinton Foundation. President Obama releases FY 2017 budget, i.e. blueprint for Third Obama term:
Earlier this week the White House released a $4.1 trillion budget request loaded with big government socialist schemes, higher taxes, increased spending, more record debt and even more Washington, D.C. crony capitalism. The spending plan is a blueprint for what Obama’s Third term, as administered by Clinton or Sanders, would resemble.
