Hagedorn Weekly Report #38

This past week Tim Walz sponsored an advertisement in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune railing against unspecified acts of anti-Muslim bias and branding people as “Un-Minnesotan.” In my view, the ad a crass attempt to impose a political correctness litmus test and discourage Minnesotans from supporting candidates and policies designed to keep America safe. (See Walz ad here)

During his 10 years in Congress, Tim Walz has remained silent on the threat of radical Islam (he even refuses to identify our enemy as radical Islam), and Walz has supported Obama’s leftwing open borders and refugee policies that have left our nation and state vulnerable to Islamic terrorism. Moreover, Walz consistently remained silent as radical Muslims slaughtered Christians in the Middle East and murdered Americans at Fort Hood, San Bernardino, Boston, Chattanooga, Benghazi (Libya), repeating.

So, given that Tim Walz has failed to identify radical Islam, has failed to protect us from Islamic Jihadists and has failed to acknowledge acts of evil perpetrated by Islamic terrorists against Americans, I find Tim’s “be nice to Muslims lecture” a bit pompous.

Today our campaign issued this press release hammering Walz for cowardice. The release also highlights my comprehensive plan to defend the United States and protect the American people from the threat of radical Islam.

Many of this week’s campaign plans were battered by the big snowstorm. Our campaign team utilized the extra downtime to make fundraising calls and continue organizing for the March 1st Precinct Caucus.

Radio Interview

Engaging the media and addressing issues promptly and straight-forwardly is an important part of our grassroots campaign. I enjoy interacting with the media and am comfortable addressing policy questions posed in open-ended interviews.

Thanks to the following media outlets for covering our campaign over the past several weeks: KKOJ-Radio (Jackson), the Jackson County Pilot, KWOA-Radio (Worthington), the Mankato Times, the Mankato Free Press, KSUM-Radio (Fairmont) and KBEW-Radio (Blue Earth).

To follow our campaign’s media activities, please visit www.jimhagedorn.org.

Attention Faribault, Freeborn and Blue Earth County residents, our campaign will be holding a meet and greet fundraiser, February 19th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at the Nowak Farm in Wells. Hope you will attend and bring a friend! Please view this flyer for full details.

Our campaign finished 2015 with total receipts of just under $100,000 and $11,000 in the bank. Since announcing in May, our team has made great gains organizing in each of the First District’s 21 counties, engaging in spirited retail politics, building GOP support and unity and offering clear-cut positions and solutions on the issues.

Working hard, shaking hands and being right on the issues is critically important, especially for a challenger. But, as we move closer to November our team needs your help to raise the resources needed to deliver our winning conservative message and further enhance my strong name identification.

Please consider making a contribution of $50, $100, $200 or more today.

The Democrat position in Minnesota is weak, Hillary Clinton is getting smoked in southern Minnesota with poll numbers in the 20s and 30s (click here), and nationally acclaimed political analyst Larry Sabato rates MN-CD1 as one of only 21 Democrat House seats vulnerable to Republican takeover (see more).

We are in position to win, but need supporters to step up and pitch in. Thanks to all who have volunteered and contributed financially! With your full support we will defeat liberal Tim Walz, take back our country and restore America’s greatness.

U.S. House votes to impose key Iranian sanctions (Tim Walz votes “no”):

This week the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3662, legislation to continue sanctions against Iranians involved in ballistic missile and terrorist operations. The bill sounds more than reasonable; yet, Tim Walz - who voted for President Obama’s weak Iran deal - voted “no” on H.R. 3662.  By contrast, neighboring 7th District Democrat Congressman Collin Peterson voted “yes.”

Minnesota Dems think throwing money at refugees will deter terrorism:

Check out my Facebook post and the accompanying news article that highlights how Minnesota’s liberals are planning to spend $10 million on refugees to deter terrorism. As usual, Democrats ignore the underlying problem and think spending more money is the answer. Wrong!

Obama administration discontinues processing illegal aliens:

According to Border Patrol sources, the Obama administration has discontinued processing illegal aliens who cross into the United States. In my view, the intentional failure to enforce U.S. immigration law is treasonous. Please help me defeat Tim “Amnesty” Walz. I am committed to working with the next Republican president to secure America’s borders and return to the rule of law. For more click here.

More legal problems for Tim Walz’s candidate, Hillary Clinton:

The FBI has assigned 100 agents to investigate former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for alleged failure to secure U.S. classified information and possible “pay for play” corruption associated with the Clinton Foundation. For more click here.

Clinton continues to trail Republican candidates in Minnesota!:

Hillary Clinton continues to struggle in Minnesota. Check out this Minneapolis Star-Tribune article highlighting how Republican presidential candidates continue to lead Clinton in the North Star State. Note that Clinton is viewed especially unfavorably in southern Minnesota.

This week our campaign team will continue to organize for the March 1st Precinct Caucus and I am scheduled to attend Republican meetings across the First District and meet with financial contributors.
