HAGEDORN SECURES ENDORSEMENTS FROM FOUR FORMER FIRST DISTRICT CHAIRS
Blue Earth, Minnesota – With the 2018 midterm election less than one year away, Republican First Congressional District candidate Jim Hagedorn announced he has been endorsed by four former chairs of Minnesota’s First District Republican Party.
“It’s an honor to be endorsed by four highly respected former GOP chairs of the First Congressional District,” said Hagedorn. “They are committed to our efforts to unify the Republican Party, maintain our full-time campaign across all 21 counties of the district and spread our campaign’s core message of standing up for the conservative solutions that accurately reflect the views and values of southern Minnesotans,” Hagedorn stated.
The four former First Congressional District Chairs who have endorsed Hagedorn served in office over a nine-year period, 2009 through 2017. They include:
- Carol Stevenson; North Mankato, MN
- Steve Perkins; Sioux Falls, SD (formerly of Luverne, MN)
- Kim Hummel; Jackson, MN
- Dave Kruse; Mankato, MN
In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Democrat Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best takeover opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
