HAGEDORN RENEWS CALL FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION CRACK DOWN
Says Discovery of Second Violent Murder by Illegal Immigrant in Three Days
Validates Trump/Hagedorn Border Security and Immigration Plan
Blue Earth, Minnesota – Jim Hagedorn, Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s First Congressional District, today renewed his call for sweeping border security and immigration reforms to crack down on illegal immigration. Hagedorn said the recent discovery of two violent murders, both committed by illegal aliens, further demonstrates the pressing need to enact the policies he and President Trump have outlined.
“The murder of Mollie Tibbetts in Iowa and Enedelia Perez Garcia in Shakopee, both at the hands of illegal aliens, are two horrific, avoidable and close-to-home cases that validate my support for bold solutions to secure America’s borders and reinstate the rule of law,” said Hagedorn.
Hagedorn said if elected to Congress he will partner with President Trump to implement an array of border security and immigration reforms, including: building the President’s proposed border wall; replacing chain migration with a merit-based system of legal immigration; defunding sanctuary cities/states; ending the failed policy of “catch and release;” requiring the uniform application of E-Verify; and, establishing a verifiable work program to meet the needs of business and agriculture.
Ms. Tibbetts was violently murdered in Brooklyn, Iowa, by an illegal immigrant who had been living in the United States for four to seven years according to press reports. Ms. Perez Garcia died from multiple stab wounds inflicted by an illegal immigrant who has three drunken driving convictions, another for domestic assault and had been deported in 2012, but illegally re-entered the U.S.
“The issue of illegal immigration offers voters a clear contrast in this election. Our opponent, Dan Feehan, along with virtually every major Democrat candidate in the State of Minnesota, advocates for the policies of open borders, amnesty and sanctuary cities,” Hagedorn said.
“I’m on the other side and believe we must place the safety and interests of American citizens first. I am committed to voting for and supporting all reasonable measures to remove illegal aliens from our country and prevent foreigners from ever entering the United States unlawfully in the first place,” said Hagedorn.
