- Part One: Identify the Enemy -

Blue Earth, MN – Republican First District congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn today further outlined his campaign platform of reinstating President Ronald Reagan’s national security and foreign policy of “Peace through Strength.”

“The first responsibility of our president and Congress is to defend the United States and protect the American people,” said Hagedorn. “We have ‘led from behind’ for too long; our country must once again project the necessary power, strength and resolve to rally our allies and defeat the enemies of freedom,” he said.

Hagedorn maintains that the foreign policy and border security weakness and bungling of President Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and liberals like Rep. Tim Walz have led to Middle East chaos and made U.S. citizens increasingly vulnerable to attack from Islamic terrorists. “Frankly, on the policy issues related to defending and defeating radical Islam, Congressman Walz has either been silent, weak, wrong or naïve,” Hagedorn charged.

Unlike Walz and other national politicians who scrambled for political cover following the recent Paris attacks, Hagedorn has a longstanding record of advocating bold steps to protect America’s homeland from radical Islam. For example, well before the Paris attacks Hagedorn penned a commentary (see link below) calling for the suspension of all refugee transfers to the United States based upon existing national security concerns.

Over the course of the next several weeks, Hagedorn will release a series of videos outlining his policies to identify, defend, attack and defeat radical Islamist enemies of the United States. In the first video, “Identify the enemy,” (released today, see link below) Hagedorn articulates the commonsense requirement to clearly define the enemy and contrasts his leadership with that of politically correct politicians who refuse to reference “radical Islam” and similar identifiers.
