Nation’s Largest Law Enforcement Organization Awards Unanimous Endorsement

Blue Earth, Minnesota – Jim Hagedorn, Republican candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s First Congressional District, today announced his campaign has been unanimously endorsed by the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police (MNFOP), the largest law enforcement organization in the United States with over 330,000 members nationwide.

“I am honored that the hard-working law enforcement officers in the First Congressional District, as well as across the state of Minnesota, have endorsed our campaign,” said Hagedorn. “Make no mistake; it’s not easy being a law enforcement officer today. From protecting our families, homes, businesses and property, to ensuring safety on our roads and in our cities, to addressing mental health, substance abuse and addiction issues, to just being a friend to a child in need, the men and women of law enforcement are everyday heroes among us.”

“The members of the MNFOP are honored to stand with Jim Hagedorn in his bid to represent the citizens of the 1st Congressional District of Minnesota. We are confident Jim will not only recognize, but respect, the dedication and hard work of law enforcement officers who make our communities safe for all citizens throughout Minnesota. Also, his values align with those of our members and we are confident his work in Congress will dovetail with the legislative priorities of the MNFOP,” said Matthew Hagen, President of the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police.

The Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police is comprised of current and retired law enforcement officers from across Minnesota and is part of the Fraternal Order of Police Grand Lodge, which is the largest law enforcement organization in the United States representing 330,000 members.

In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pick-up opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
