MN-01 IS THE BEST HOUSE GOP TAKEOVER OPPORTUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES –
Our campaign continues to generate media attention, both locally and nationally. With Tim Walz not running for reelection to Congress, political pundits are beginning to realize that the without the advantages of incumbency (campaign money, name ID, backing from national interest groups, etc.) Democrats will be hard pressed to hold on to the First District.
To review recent local and national stories about our race, see this Mankato Free Press article or this profile of my candidacy and analysis of Minnesota’s competitive congressional races by nationally acclaimed Inside Elections with Nathan Gonzalez or this Morning Consult story highlighting our campaign and how once solid districts like MN-01 are no longer safe for Democrat congressional candidates.
MAIN STREET CAMPAIGNING –
Our campaign celebrated Independence Day by walking 6 miles of parades in Austin, Blooming Prairie and Stewartville. Over just the past month or so, our team has walked in 21 parades, campaigned in 16 counties I’ve had the pleasure of shaking hands with thousands upon thousands of southern Minnesotans.
Team Hagedorn has the most awesome volunteers (see picture above). Thank you for traveling the First District and helping me campaign!
I met some Great Americans recently, but was most impressed with Carter (see below, pictured with me during Blooming Prairie's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Parade), who is counting on our Republican congressional majority to partner with President Trump to Make America Great Again!

Our campaign continues to work hard to raise critical early financial support. Raising $221,000 in Q1 of 2017 gave us a huge early boost. Thanks to all for your financial support!
Look for more fundraising details in our next report, as well as information on three exciting fundraising events the Hagedorn campaign will be holding in July, August and September!
Please consider making a contribution today. Every amount, large and not so large, makes a difference! To make a contribution via our secure website click here (www.jimhagedorn.org/donate) or please send checks to: Friends of Hagedorn; 11 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 007; Mankato, MN 56001.
HAGEDORN STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT REINSTATEMENT OF TRUMP EXTREME VETTING –
I am pleased the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated key provisions of President Turmp’s extreme vetting executive order that calls for a 90-day moratorium on travel between six troubled nations and a 120-day refugee program timeout.
I have long advocated for extreme vetting and proposed a refugee program timeout in 2015, even before then-candidate Donald Trump offered similar restrictions on immigration transfers to the United States.
You can be assured I will continue to champion commonsense national security and immigration solutions to Keep America Safe from Islamic supremacists and all who pose a threat to our nation.

SPECIAL THANKS TO ETHAN YOUNG –
Thanks to friend and supporter Ethan Young for providing our campaign with the ultimate vehicle for our July 4th parades in Austin and Blooming Prairie. Ethan’s beautiful and award-winning rig, with the special Make America Great Again “license plate,” was the talk of the parades. For more photos, click here.
