HAGEDORN DOMINATES FIRST DEBATE
Shows Superior Command on Wide Range of Issues

Blue Earth, Minnesota – Friends of Hagedorn, the campaign committee for Minnesota’s First District Republican congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn, declared an uncontested victory in the first debate between Republican Jim Hagedorn and Democrat Dan Feehan at the event held in Owatonna.

“Whether the discussion centered on health care, immigration, agriculture or keeping America safe, today’s debate clearly illustrated Jim’s superior knowledge of the issues facing our state and nation,” said Campaign Manager David FitzSimmons. “But even more impressive than Jim’s depth of knowledge was the fact that his answers laid out clear, positive and achievable solutions to these challenges,” stated FitzSimmons.

Jointly sponsored by the Owatonna Chamber of Commerce, Owatonna Rotary Club and Owatonna People’s Press, a crowd of over 100 witnessed the debate held at the Owatonna Country Club.

“The fact that Dan Feehan had never lived a day in any of the 21 counties of the First District until he moved from Washington D.C. to run for office was plainly evident today in that his answers to numerous questions were vague, evasive and far to the left of the views and values of First District voters,” stated FitzSimmons.

“We’d like to thank the debate hosts for sponsoring this substantive discussion of the issues, which showed that Jim’s deep roots in the First District and his common sense solutions are a much better fit for southern Minnesota,” concluded FitzSimmons.

The next scheduled debate, hosted by KTTC TV, is on Tuesday, October 9, at Kellogg Middle School in Rochester, and begins at 7:00 p.m.

In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pick-up opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
