Hagedorn, Emmer, Stauber Urge Walz To Safely Reopen Medical Centers

Reps. Jim Hagedorn (MN-01), Tom Emmer (MN-06) and Pete Stauber (MN-08) wrote a letter on Friday, May 1, to Gov. Tim Walz encouraging him to establish guidelines for the responsible, safe and prompt reopening of hospitals and other medical care providers to the general public.

A joint release from Hagedorn’s staff said that all three congressmen have been in regular contact with health care networks and medical providers in their districts over the last few weeks.

“We remain deeply concerned that the medical needs of Minnesotans are being neglected and those in immediate need of life-saving treatment or surgery are one day closer to a terminal diagnosis

Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) announced that 15 airports across southern Minnesota will receive transportation funding from the CARES ACT, which he supported in the House of Representatives in March. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) grants for safety fixes and infrastructure improvements total nearly $3 million, including more than $2 million for Rochester International Airport (RST).

My Point of View: Why the Pushback Against Trump’s Plan to Reopen U.S.?

My Point of View: Why the Pushback Against Trump’s Plan to Reopen U.S.?

I would like to thank state Rep. Peggy Bennett and Congressional Rep. Hagedorn for supporting opening up the country as soon as safely possible and for protecting our constitutional rights.

Listen carefully — can you hear it? It’s the left cheering for a recession to come! It’s seen as the only hope for them to defeat Donald Trump. Could it turn to a depression so they could bring in full socialism? Have you noticed a pushback against the president’s guideline plan to reopen in stages? They say we are not ready to even talk about reopening the country. They say the president is going too fast. Have they read the plan or just rejected it because it was presented by the president? If they looked at the guidelines which, by the way, were developed in cooperation with business and medical experts, they would see milestones

Radio Town Hall Appreciated

Radio Town Hall Appreciated

In these strange new times, we often find ourselves alone more often than we like, but that doesn’t mean we have to give up our community. Where there is a will, there’s a way.

Our very own Congressman Jim Hagedorn has found a way. Recently, Rep. Hagedorn, Brian McDonald from the Small Business Association and Dr. Steve Parnell from The Dulcimer Medical Center in Fairmont, held a radio town hall.

Radio call-ins are not the same as being able to see your representative in person, but it is a really innovative way to get the job done

Officials Introduce New Legislation To Support Agricultural Industries

Rep. Jim Hagedorn (MN-01) and a bipartisan coalition of U.S. House members introduced legislation Friday to sustain farmers and agriculture-businesses in order to maintain America’s food supply.

The bill, whose lead sponsor is Rep. Austin Scott (GA-08), would authorize the U.S. Department of Agriculture to expend as much as $50 billion to help farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The legislation also

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, District 1 Representative Jim Hagedorn has been working hard in Washington to ensure the safety and financial security of southern Minnesotans.

“In southern Minnesota, we’ve had personal protection equipment that was sparse,” said Hagedorn. “So we would ask our people to consider selling it to our friends or in some cases, you hope Bedford (Industries) over in Worthington gets FDA approval to get face shields.”

Hagedorn has also been working on a trio of packages to fund test equipment and to give relief to those who required leave from work or to care for family members, and giving money directly to the American people

Letter: Hagedorn Is Right On The Economy

Letter: Hagedorn Is Right On The Economy

It appears we have hit a turning point. With more and more Americans becoming increasingly worried about the well-being of our economy and livelihoods, it is clear that we need to put an end to this unprecedented era of quarantine. The proverbial cure is now worse than the disease. It is obvious to point out that we cannot continue this voluntary shutdown for much longer. Luckily, there are leaders in our government like Rep. Jim Hagedorn, who has continually supported the overall strategy of President Trump

We Need To Talk About A Path Forward

We Need To Talk About A Path Forward

To the editor:

These days it seems that everyone is talking about the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been little else in the news. For good reason; we are up against a new disease that crawled out of the proverbial jungles of China. The economic hardships resulting from our government’s decision to shutter our public habits is a plight of its own.

As we discuss how to fight the disease, we should also be discussing another topic: the reopening of our economy. Not everyone wants to have this conversation, but it is a necessary one. Some of our bolder elected leaders, like U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn, have been willing to have this conversation. One example of a company doing the same thing is SageGlass

SageGlass, based in our very own Faribault, is a crucial manufacturer of electrochromic glass, which is essential for modern construction practices. They have been shut down since March 16 but plan to re-open soon with beefed-up sterilization and sanitation practices, and a strict social distancing guideline. This
