Rep. Jim Hagedorn Seeks To Make Sure Livestock Producers Make It Through the COVID Crisis

The November ballot in Minnesota will feature incumbent Jim Hagedorn, a Republican who worked for years in the U.S. Treasury Department. His challenger is Democrat Dan Feehan, and both men ran for the same seat two years ago.

Congressman Jim Hagedorn says that he is here to support farmers and ranchers, and that expanding access to trade has been a goal since day one.

According to Hagedorn, “The main priority I had going into office here in 2019 was, ‘how are we going to expand trade?,’ and the President has done a fantastic job with USMCA… I promoted that trade deal every single day I was in office, and they way I figured it is, if we couldn’t do a deal with Mexico and Canada, our best trading partners, how are we ever going to get anything done with China, or even Japan, India, and Great Britain.”

ROCHESTER, Minn. — First District Republican Congressman Jim Hagedorn excelled in tonight’s KEYC News debate against DFL challenger Dan Feehan.

“Tonight’s debate demonstrated a clear contrast between my conservative solutions and my Democrat opponent’s leftwing policies that are clearly out of touch with First District voters,” said Hagedorn.

“I articulated my bipartisan accomplishments in support of First District farmers, small businesses, and our fine rural hospitals, as well as working with the Trump Administration to secure much-needed federal funding for completion of the Highway 14 Corridor project,” he continued. “I outlined my support for the police and my endorsement by the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police and Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association.”

“Dan Feehan, on the other hand, is an ultra-liberal Democrat handpicked by Nancy Pelosi and sent from D.C. to run in a congressional district in which he has never lived before running for Congress,” said Hagedorn.

In the most dramatic moments of the debate, Hagedorn provided evidence of how Feehan was personally paid almost $500,000 by groups tied to national Democrat operatives to run for Congress. During the debate, Feehan denied being compensated in any way from these groups even though his Financial Disclosure forms submitted to the House prove otherwise. Accepting wages while running for Congress and not performing bona fide work is a clear felony violation of Federal Election Commission statutes.

“I challenge my opponent to prove he did the work required to earn nearly half a million dollars from groups known to pay Democrats to run for office,” concluded Hagedorn.

Support Candidates Who Support Police

Support Candidates Who Support Police

In a time when law enforcement officers are at the center of many stories in the news, it’s important to rally around our brave men and women in uniform.

Millions of people appreciate law enforcement, but it’s also critical to elect candidates who recognize their courage, dedication and sacrifice.

When Jim Hagedorn was elected in 2018, he promised to support our law enforcement officers in Washington by working to pass legislation in line with the needs of law enforcement officers across this

In 2018, the two candidates came within 1,300 votes of each other, one of the tightest congressional races in the country. On Sunday, the two will meet

BLUE EARTH, Minn. — First District Republican Congressman Jim Hagedorn issued the following statement in response to the Minnesota State High School League reversing their decision to cancel all high school sports this fall:

“I’m pleased to see that the Minnesota State High School League has reversed their decision to cancel fall sports and will allow student athletes to play this season,” Hagedorn said. “I have been an outspoken advocate for parents and students, and the need for fall high school sports.”

“Our Governor and his Democrat allies in the legislature unlawfully retain emergency powers that continue to needlessly harm small businesses, bankrupt restaurants, impose severe financial hardships on rural hospitals and clinics, undercut churches, and usurp power from local school districts,” he said.

“As I’ve said time and time again, we must fully reopen Minnesota. I’ll continue standing up to Governor Walz and fighting for our residents, businesses, hospitals, churches, and high school athletes in order to reopen Minnesota and follow the lead of neighboring states like South Dakota,” Hagedorn concluded.

Hagedorn Earns Biofuels Award

U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn received Growth Energy’s 2020 Fueling Growth Award on Wednesday for his efforts to support the biofuels industry.

It’s the second consecutive year that Hagedorn, who represents Minnesota’s First Congressional District, has been recognized by Growth Energy for his support of biofuels initiatives and recognition of the industry’s importance to rural communities and the economy.

Since taking office, Hagedorn has worked on the House Agriculture Committee and Congressional Biofuels Caucus to ensure greater transparency and oversight in the small refinery exemption (SRE) process

Hagedorn Helped Rural Hospitals

Hagedorn Helped Rural Hospitals

Earlier this year, I contacted the office of Congressman Jim Hagedorn voicing concerns over how rural Critical Access Hospitals were on the hook to offset loan forgiveness funds received through the Paycheck Protection Program and Provider Relief Funds on Fiscal Year End Medicare Cost Reports.

Without further clarification from the federal government, Critical Access Hospitals could have lost as much as 35 to 60% of the funds we received through Health and Human Service Grants.

Congressman Hagedorn took swift action and led a bipartisan letter to HHS Secretary Alex Azar, who agreed with him and updated to include the critical clarification for rural hospitals. This new guidance aligns directly with the congressman’s suggestions

My Point of View: You Know Where to Find the County’s Republican Party

My Point of View: You Know Where to Find the County’s Republican Party

Try as it may, a bee can rarely convince the common house fly that pollen is preferred over poop. Politics has become very similar. If the questions voters want answered aren’t easily available to them and only the information candidates offer is canned, scripted and typical political fluff, then we’re often just being fed a line of — not honey.

Southern Minnesota has a great collection of current representatives up for re-election and their fellow conservative candidates we are proud to celebrate. We are blessed with political figures who are easy to contact and are as available as our friends and neighbors. Everyone from our very respected former teacher, state Rep. Peggy Bennett, to candidates who are a local carpenter and a national radio host, Gene Dornink and Jason Lewis, and especially our local congressman serving in Washington, D.C., Jim Hagedorn. Congressman Hagedorn has visited Albert Lea

A year and half after being diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer, Rep. Jim Hagedorn said regular CT scans have shown a reduction or elimination of the disease with no progression.

“My response to the treatment has been remarkable,” Hagedorn said in statement released Tuesday, Sept. 15. “I feel great and have continued to work as hard as ever.” He said he has not missed a single vote due to his illness and has held 27 town hall

Hagedorn Better Represents Our Rural Values

Hagedorn Better Represents Our Rural Values

September is upon us, and with the election just two months away, it’s time for organizations to begin announcing their political endorsements.

While seemingly underrated, endorsements from organizations are a cut-and-dry way to figure out what each candidate does (and does not) stand for.

Jim Hagedorn was recently endorsed by three critical groups: Gun Owners of America, Minnesota Farm Bureau PAC and the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association. His support for the constitutionally-protected right of gun ownership, championing of biofuels and the Farm Bill, and unwavering defense of our law enforcement officers has never faltered and is evident through the endorsement of hundreds of thousands of members throughout these
