Hagedorn To Vote “No” On Trump Impeachment, Addresses Questions At Town Hall

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Republican District 1 House Representative Jim Hagedorn addresses community questions and concerns at two town halls in the area.

One was hosted in Mankato, the other in North Mankato. At the North Mankato Town Hall meeting Hagedorn stated his standpoint on the upcoming vote on President Donald Trump’s impeachment.

“I oppose the impeachment it was an overtly political exercise by the democrats in my view an unwarranted attempt to remove a dually elected president. But when the votes come up next week on the articles of impeachment, I am voting no,” Hagedorn claimed.

MAPLETON — Overturning the will of the people by removing a duly-elected president of the United States was intended by the founders to be an exceedingly rare and judicious act.

I am very pleased that Rep. Jim Hagedorn has affirmed his opposition to President Donald Trump’s impeachment. Hagedorn stated at a recent town hall meeting that he plans to vote “No” because the Democrats’ impeachment endeavors are overtly political, partisan, divisive and unwarranted.

Additionally, Congressman Hagedorn has rightfully called upon the Democrat-controlled House to quit wasting time and resources on impeachment, and to work in a bipartisan fashion to provide common-sense border security, prescription drug reform and transportation and infrastructure legislation.

Esther Skaran: Feehan Needs To Share Stance On Impeachment

WINONA – I expect my elected leaders to be unafraid to tell voters their stance on issues, especially when it comes to something as consequential as impeaching the president of the United States.

It’s why I appreciate Rep. Hagedorn’s candor regarding his belief that we’re witnessing a completely unjustified, divisive partisan witch hunt and, therefore, will vote against impeaching President Trump.

He has also expressed his disappointment over the lack of action in securing the border, investing in transportation/infrastructure and passing prescription drug reform that actually has a chance of being signed into law. All because of the Democratic Party’s obsession with impeachment.

Trade Pact Wins Praise From All Sides

FAIRMONT — Congressman Jim Hagedorn of southern Minnesota is praising news of a bipartisan agreement to bring the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade to a vote on the floor of the U.S. House.

He’s not alone.

Democrat Dan Feehan, who narrowly lost to Hagedorn in 2018 and who is running again in 2020, also backs the compromise, saying it will open markets for farmers, ensure that American workers are on a level playing field and protect the environment.

Letter: Picture Democrats paint isn’t accurate

MANKATO – Congressman Jim Hagedorn has opposed impeachment and has been very upfront with constituents about that stance. Hagedorn opposes impeachment because he is disgusted with how the Democrats in Congress have treated the process.

All of the committee chairs involved, Maxine Waters, Jerry Nadler, Adam Schiff, Elliot Engel, Carolyn Maloney and Richard Neal have had their minds entirely made up years before the inquiry officially started.

The final vote in the House will likely take place in the coming weeks, and the impeachment of a president is a process that should have bipartisan support. Instead, you will more than likely see a dozen or more House Democrats vote against impeaching the president. This impeachment inquiry does not have bipartisan support; it has bipartisan opposition.

Trade Deal Popular With Minnesota Delegation

– The U.S. House is set to vote this week on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal, and most members of Minnesota’s congressional delegation are planning to vote for the rare compromise between President Donald Trump and House Democrats.

Among Minnesota’s eight House members, only Rep. Ilhan Omar has signaled that she might vote against USMCA, as the agreement is known.

“We have engaged our stakeholders in Minnesota and still have concerns,” Omar’s spokesman said in an e-mail.

Letter: Hagedorn Supports The Process

ALBERT LEA — Jim Hagedorn, our U.S. Representative, has shown that he supports due process by opposing the impeachment inquiry being run by D.C. swamp Democrats. At Hagedorn’s town halls, he has talked about impeachment very honestly and without shying away from the question. One of his Democratic opponents, Dan Feehan, when asked about whether or not he supports impeachment, said “It’s not something I’m focused on.” In other words, he supports impeachment, but he doesn’t want to talk about it because he knows it will lose him votes in a district that voted for President Trump by 15 percent. A lot of people will also notice that at Hagedorn’s most recent town halls, not a single person asked about impeachment, probably because they are sick of the wasteful inquiry that is dead upon arrival in the Senate.

ROCHESTER — With the debate over the impeachment of President Trump reaching a fever pitch, one might wonder how a divided Congress can get anything done.

This week, it surprised us.

Amid all the rancor, a historic bipartisan agreement was reached this week on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, a sequel to NAFTA, with southern Minnesota lawmakers DFL Rep. Angie Craig and GOP Rep. Jim Hagedorn hailing the outcome as a win for farmers and workers.

Minnesota Politicians Rally Behind USMCA Trade Deal

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Members of Congress representing Minnesota are rallying behind the announced agreement of the United State-Mexico-Canada trade deal.

Republican District 1 House Representative Jim Hagedorn says it’s a win for the American people.

He says dairy farmers will especially benefit because agreement allows them to sell more dairy products to Canada.
