Rep. Hagedorn Fighting Kidney Cancer, Says He's Doing Fine & "Hasn't Missed A Beat"

Representative Jim Hagedorn sat down with ABC 6 News anchor Betsy Singer Wednesday to give an update on his health and his campaign saying, “About a year ago I was diagnosed with kidney cancer and since last March I have been receiving immunotherapy treatments here in Rochester at the Mayo Clinic. I’m happy to report that I’m doing great and I feel fine. The treatments are going well, according to my doctor. And, I’ve been doing my job in Congress. I haven’t missed a beat, didn’t miss a vote.

On Surprise Medical Bills: Lawmakers Shouldn’t Reward Bad Insurer Behavior

The debate in Congress over surprise medical bills presents a real opportunity for lawmakers to provide a solution to a problem that can create huge financial burdens for Minnesotans. On average, 18 percent of emergency-room visits result in at least one out-of-network charge. These bills disrupt patient recovery and add financial stress to a health scare.

Americans deserve better, but Congress appears to be wavering on passing a solution that will protect patients. Instead, we are seeing a push to use the debate over surprise medical bills as an opportunity to reward insurance companies that have continually put their profits before their beneficiaries.

NEW ULM – Congressman Jim Hagedorn answered questions from residents of Brown County as part of his 21-county Town Hall tour.

During the town hall, Hagedorn addressed President Trump’s trade war with China and the USMCA Trade Agreement.

“This deal with the United States, Mexico, Canada trade agreement was a good start we passed, it’s going to help us build momentum for other deals. We know how important it is for agriculture, manufacturing, everything how we have to have these markets and increase these markets,” said Hagedorn.

Feehan politicizes tragedy

NEW ULM — There’s an old adage that says adversity doesn’t build character, it reveals it.

Unfortunately, the recent tragic fatal accidents on Hwy 14 have revealed Dan Feehan’s character. I am appalled that anyone would be so desperate to achieve elected office that he/she would politicize the deaths of accident victims and exploit the grief of their families.

Individuals from all walks of life and across all political ideologies have been working on completing this dangerous section of Hwy 14 for over 50 years. Unfortunately, for countless reasons, this section of road has never received funding. That makes Dan’s attempt to blame Rep. Hagedorn for these accidents for crass, political purposes beyond contemptible.
