HAGEDORN: U.S. AT WAR WITH ISLAMIC SUPREMACISTS
- GOP candidate outlines several bold reforms, including a refugee program “timeout”-

Blue Earth, MN – Republican First District congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn held press conferences in Rochester and Mankato today to address the threat of radical Islamic terrorism and offer solutions to prevent or minimize the risk of future attacks.

“The United States is at war with Islamic supremacists who adhere to the ideology of radical Islam,” Hagedorn declared.  Any national officeholder who balks at properly identifying our enemy cannot be counted upon to defeat our enemy,” he said.

Hagedorn, a longstanding advocate for securing America’s borders and enforcing existing U.S. immigration laws, offered bold policy changes to defend the United States and protect the American people.

“Our nation must stop importing enemy combatants from countries that hate the United States and abhor western culture,” said Hagedorn.

“President Obama has flooded the U.S. with almost 1 million migrants and refugees from predominately radical Muslim nations during his administration. The result: Minnesota has a terrorist recruiting problem from existing East African refugees, and the F.B.I. is bogged down tracking over 1,000 potential ISIS terrorists,” he asserted.

Hagedorn said Minnesota’s unfortunate status as “ground zero” for ISIS and Islamic terrorist recruitment proves that the current vetting process for all refugees is broken. “Our government must take a refugee program ‘timeout’ so we can assess the benefits and weaknesses of the program and make appropriate changes,” he said. In addition to pausing refugee programs, Hagedorn said he supports a temporary moratorium on non-essential migration from anti-American countries; creating “safe zones” for Syrian and other refugees; securing America’s borders; implementing a biometric entry/exit U.S. Visa and passport system; deporting foreign nationals who overstay temporary Visas; repatriating refugees and asylees; and, revoking the citizenship or permanent residency of those who engage in terrorist activities.

Hagedorn chastised his opponent, 10-year Democrat Rep. Tim Walz, for a “decade of silence, weakness, incompetence, political correctness and naiveté that has enabled the cancer of Islamic terrorism to rapidly spread and kill.”

“Walz has never identified our enemy by name. He supported the Obama-Clinton foreign policy that created Middle East chaos, the rise of ISIS, an enormous refugee crisis and the slaughter of Christians. Walz voted for Obama’s massive Muslim migration, closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison and transfer of Islamic terrorists to the United States, and he voted to give amnesty to foreign nationals, including those from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Pakistan, who overstay temporary U.S. Visas.

“The key question Walz needs to answer for his constituents is this: What good comes from bringing more people into the United States from Islamic nations that hate the United States,” Hagedorn asked.

“The era of political correctness is over,” said Hagedorn. “Voters are tired of the DC politicians avoiding the issues and repeating the same mistakes. Southern Minnesotans are looking for a congressman who will say what needs to be said and do what needs to be done to defend them and our country.”
