HAGEDORN STATEMENT ON GOP COMPETITOR –

Earlier this week State Senator Carla Nelson announced her candidacy for Congress in Minnesota’s First District. I welcome my friend to the race and look forward to a robust discussion of the issues.

Because of you, and all our wonderful supporters, our campaign is in a powerful position to win the Minnesota First District Republican Party’s endorsement, win the GOP Primary and win the General Election.

REPS GUTKNECHT & KLINE ENDORSE HAGEDORN –

Our campaign is excited to announce that former Congressmen Gil Gutknecht (MN-1) and John Kline (MN-2) have endorsed my candidacy for Congress.

Gaining the full support of such honorable leaders – the last two Republican Congressmen who represented the geographic areas of our 21-county First District – is inspiring. To read our press release, click here.

HOUSE AG CHAIR CONAWAY OFFERS SUPPORT –

Our campaign continues to build post-election momentum by attracting support from national, statewide and grassroots Republican leaders.

During my August 3rd visit to Farmfest I had the pleasure of discussing agriculture policy with Rep. Michael Conaway of Texas, Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture (see above photo).  Later that day Chairman Conaway, U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota’s 6th District and former U.S. Senator Rudy Boschwitz made remarks at a Minneapolis event in support of our campaign.

MN-01 IS THE BEST HOUSE GOP TAKEOVER OPPORTUNITY IN THE UNITED STATES –

Our campaign continues to generate media attention, both locally and nationally. With Tim Walz not running for reelection to Congress, political pundits are beginning to realize that the without the advantages of incumbency (campaign money, name ID, backing from national interest groups, etc.) Democrats will be hard pressed to hold on to the First District.

To review recent local and national stories about our race, see this Mankato Free Press article or this profile of my candidacy and analysis of Minnesota’s competitive congressional races by nationally acclaimed Inside Elections with Nathan Gonzalez or this Morning Consult story highlighting our campaign and how once solid districts like MN-01 are no longer safe for Democrat congressional candidates.

GA-06 Win is Good News for MN-01; Hagedorn (mid-June) Report

Chart

GA-06 WIN BODES WELL FOR HAGEDORN & MN-01–

National Democrats wasted $40 million in Georgia’s sixth district to find out what we have known all along – that voters in congressional districts carried by Donald Trump (like MN-01) still want dramatic national change and fulfillment of the President’s legislative program. HAGEDORN: GOP CONGRESSIONAL MAJORITY SHOULD IGNORE MEDIA/DEMOCRAT NOISE & GET TO WORK!

This week former F.B.I. Director Robert Mueller was appointed as special counsel to investigate “all things Russia.” This reaction from left-leaning lawyer and professor Alan Dershowitz should be considered, see article here.

Health Care Bill Passes House; Hagedorn (early-May) Report

HAGEDORN STATEMENT ON U.S. HOUSE PASSAGE OF HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION –

U.S. House Republicans have taken the first step toward repealing and replacing Obamacare with free market reforms. While I would have preferred a straight forward repeal and more robust replacement provisions (see my full views here) I support the House's action.

Obamacare is a monstrosity that has limited health insurance choices, dramatically driven up the cost of premiums and deductibles and imposed massive, costly regulations and taxes upon the medical care industry and the American people.

The Democrat alternative to Obamacare is Medicare for all or Medicaid (welfare) for most or, more precisely, VA care for everyone.

The Democrat position of socialized medicine is unacceptable to the American people, as it would degrade the highest quality medical care in the world and lead to massive tax increases, widespread rationing and an undermining of doctors and medical institutions like our wonderful Mayo Clinic and fine rural hospitals.

I will continue to strongly support the efforts of President Trump and the congressional GOP majority to repeal and replace Obamacare.
