Hagedorn Statement on SCOTUS Obamacare Ruling

By a 6-3 majority the United States Supreme Court has upheld certain Obamacare subsidies.  The head scratching decision reinforces the importance of electing a Republican president and increasing the GOP congressional majority in 2016.

The Court’s decision changes nothing.  Obamacare is already a huge disaster.  The Act has caused many serious problems, including skyrocketing premiums and deductibles; widespread cancellation of insurance policies; a dramatic shift from private insurance to underfunded government subsidized programs; an unfolding severe doctor shortage; and, reduction in full-time employment.

Some of Obamacare’s most radical anti-medicine, anti-business and anti-consumer provisions remain to be implemented; so, the Act, along with the Democrats who voted for it, are likely to attract increasing opposition prior to the 2016 election.

Predictably, liberal Democrat Tim Walz - who promised southern Minnesotans that his Obamacare vote would reduce annual health insurance costs by $2,500 per year - praised today’s ruling.  In spite of the hurt Obamacare has imposed upon First District residents, “Twin Cities Tim” continues to defiantly cling to the unpopular monstrosity and side with his far left congressional allies from the Twin Cities.

Unlike big government Walz, I strongly support replacing Obamacare with free-market reforms to increase health insurance competition, encourage shopping for routine medical care and reduce red-tape for doctors and hospitals.

When elected to Congress, I will champion Obamacare replacement legislation to: (1) enable individuals to purchase private insurance via direct tax credits; (2) encourage health insurance competition across state lines; (3) dramatically expand use of Health Savings Accounts, backed by catastrophic coverage; (4) enact TORT reform to curtail defensive medicine; and, (5) create high-risk pools to protect patients with serious medical conditions.

For the sake of the American people we must reject Obamacare (and the other liberal radical policies of President Obama and the national Democrats).  In 2016, we must elect a conservative Republican as our next president.  And please help me finish the job and defeat liberal Obamacare Democrat Tim Walz!
