HAGEDORN NAMED “YOUNG GUN” BY NATIONAL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE

Blue Earth, Minnesota – Friends of Hagedorn, the campaign committee for Minnesota’s First District Republican congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn, today announced it has been named a “Young Gun” in the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program, having moved up from the campaign’s earlier “On the Radar” designation to “Contender,” before being awarded the “Young Gun” title.

“Reaching the Young Gun threshold is a strong vote of confidence by the NRCC and Chairman Steve Stivers that our campaign organization, fundraising, media outreach, online efforts and grass roots energy have positioned us to win,” said Hagedorn. “There is still much work to do, but I’m confident our growing campaign team is up for the challenge and we are all strongly motivated to accelerate our push to victory all the way up to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.”

Young Gun is the highest level of the Young Guns program. These candidates have met a series of rigorous goals and surpassed program benchmarks to establish a clear path to victory.

Young Gun candidates represent the most competitive congressional seats in the 2018 election cycle.

In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pick-up opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
