Campaign Raises $500K+ in 2017, More than Any Other Candidate in Race
Blue Earth, Minnesota – Jim Hagedorn and the Friends of Hagedorn campaign committee today announced continued strong fundraising for the fourth quarter of 2017 (October 1– December 31), and a record total for year-end cash-on-hand.
During the fourth quarter, Hagedorn raised more than $100,000, with over a half million raised to date, and enjoys a cash-on-hand position of over $280,000.
“Our hard work in unifying the Republican Party behind our campaign continues to pay dividends in fundraising and in contributing to our strong year-end position,” said Hagedorn.
Friends of Hagedorn raised $100,084 in the fourth quarter, with a 2017 fundraising total of $501,062 and $281,820 cash on hand. The campaign has received contributions from 682 donors to date, with 89 percent of funds raised from within the state of Minnesota.
“Jim will continue to work to unify the Republican Party, maintain our full-time campaign across all 21 counties of the district and stand strong for the conservative solutions that accurately reflect the views and values of southern Minnesotans,” said Campaign Manager David FitzSimmons.
In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pick-up opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
