HAGEDORN: FAILURE TO CALL OUT RADICAL ISLAM & PROTECT THE UNITED STATES FROM TERRORISTS IS UN-AMERICAN
- After remaining silent on the threat of radical Islam for 10 years, Tim Walz finds his voice to label constituents as “Un-Minnesotan” for unspecified Islamophobia -

Blue Earth, MN – GOP First District congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn criticized incumbent Democrat Tim Walz for sponsoring an advertisement in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that condescendingly criticized Minnesotans for unspecified anti-Muslim bigotry. [See attachment.]

Hagedorn said Walz’s “politically correct pro-Muslim lecturing” further demonstrates how radically out-of-touch the five-term congressman is with his First District constituents.

“Southern Minnesotans understand the serious threat of radical Islam and want a congressman who will speak the truth about Islamic terrorism and support the Peace through Strength policies needed to defend the United States and protect the American people,” said Hagedorn.

“It’s ironic that Tim Walz, who for a decade has been ‘quiet as a church mouse’ on the issue of radical Islam, now finds his voice to brand constituents as ‘Un-Minnesotan,’ and impose by inference a politically correct litmus test on those who would support policies aimed at keeping our nation safe,” Hagedorn said.

“Tim Walz has consistently failed to identify our enemy as ‘radical Islam’ or support measures to stop the flood of illegal immigration, fix the broken U.S. passport/visa system or block President Obama’s ongoing program to issue U.S. green cards to 850,000 immigrants from radical Muslim nations that hate America,” Hagedorn charged.

“Minnesota already has an Islamic terrorist recruiting problem stemming from east African refugees, many of whom Walz voted to bring to the U.S.,” said Hagedorn. “Yet, when refugees living in Minnesota were arrested and convicted for conspiring to help ISIS, Tim Walz remained silent and did nothing. And, when it was revealed that the United States has an exploding Islamic terrorist threat, as evidenced by the FBI’s 1,000 open ISIS investigations, Walz again remained silent and did nothing,” Hagedorn said.

“Even more telling, when Jihadists slaughtered Christians across the Middle East and murdered U.S. Soldiers and other Americans in San Bernardino, Boston, Chattanooga, Benghazi (Libya) and at Fort Hood, Tim Walz remained silent in the face of the Islamic butchery,” he said.

“My opponent’s systematic refusal to speak out against radical Islam and Jihadist violence perpetrated against persecuted Christians and Americans reveals cowardice,” Hagedorn said.

JIM HAGEDORN’S PLAN TO DEFEND THE UNITED STATES AND PROTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FROM RADICAL ISLAM AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

  • Secure America’s borders and use the National Guard to defend the southern border from terrorists, drug dealers, felony criminals and others

  • Implement a biometric entry/exit passport and visa system to track temporary visitors and locate, fine and deport those who overstay

  • Reject Obama’s amnesty and return to the rule of law for U.S. immigration

  • Push for an asylum and refugee program “timeout” – see Hagedorn’s Star-Tribune commentary on this subject

  • Suspend the issuance of visas and green cards to migrants from nations that harbor anti-western and anti-American attitudes, such as Syria, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan

  • Keep the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, U.S. military prison open and prohibit the transfer of al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists from Guantanamo to the United States

  • Revoke the U.S. visas and passports of all who support or engage in terrorism

  • Enact Kate’s Law to require a mandatory 5-year sentence for previously deported felons who are apprehended inside the United States

  • Cut-off federal funds to sanctuary cities that protect illegal aliens
