HAGEDORN ENDORSED BY MINNESOTA FARM BUREAU
Farm Bureau Federation PAC, acting on behalf of nearly 30,000 member families throughout Minnesota, backs GOP candidate

Blue Earth, Minnesota – Friends of Hagedorn, the campaign committee for Minnesota’s First District Republican congressional candidate Jim Hagedorn, today announced it has been endorsed by the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Political Action Committee.

“The support of the Minnesota Farm Bureau is personal to me. I live, and was born in the rural farming community of Blue Earth, and I grew up on the Hagedorn family grain and livestock farm just outside of Truman. My father, grandfather and great grandfather were all southern Minnesota farmers, so I have deep ties to agriculture and an appreciation and understanding of farming and rural living,” said Hagedorn.

Guided and directed by its nearly 30,000 members, the Minnesota Farm Bureau has been a trusted voice to work with elected officials and government agencies to find solutions to the challenges and key issues facing farmers, ranchers and the agriculture industry. Endorsement decisions are based upon candidate interviews and support for Farm Bureau policy. The PAC Committee is comprised of county Farm Bureau members from across the state.

“My goal in Congress is to be Minnesota’s voice on the Agriculture Committee, and to help enact policies that exert downward pressure on the cost of farming, to sustain farmers and agribusiness when times are tough, and to open markets and expand trade to create demand for the finest agricultural products in the world, grown right here in our state,” said Hagedorn.

In the 2016 election, Hagedorn received 49.6% of the vote against six-term incumbent Tim Walz, who is not seeking re-election to Congress. Minnesota’s First District is considered the best pick-up opportunity in the country for U.S. House Republicans.
